Immensely helpful if you put in the work and dig deep in reflection。 It takes time to gain clarity on business vision and communicating it to others, but Hyatt provides an effective road map for achieving that。

Vision ScriptureI like the idea of developing a more detailed and robust statement of vision。 I’ve read the book and now I’m looking forward to working through Hyatt’s questions through the Vision Scripter framework

Helpful book! Though I am not a businessman nor do I have a product to sell, Hyatt’s work is inspiring to have a clear vision in my church! Even in church, it is easy to just coast by…but what is there that we can grow in? Hyatt helps me imagine our church becoming stronger through casting vision。

Very helpfulThe book is written for people with busy lives。 Hyatt gets to the point quickly with creative anecdotes to drive in the point。 The contrasts between the businesses which had a vision and those lacking a vision are compelling。 The book gives a helpful progression through the vision scripting process。 For those who are determined, this can be all you need to complete the vision script。 It seems the book may be written with the intent to drive you to the company for assistance。 In other Very helpfulThe book is written for people with busy lives。 Hyatt gets to the point quickly with creative anecdotes to drive in the point。 The contrasts between the businesses which had a vision and those lacking a vision are compelling。 The book gives a helpful progression through the vision scripting process。 For those who are determined, this can be all you need to complete the vision script。 It seems the book may be written with the intent to drive you to the company for assistance。 In other words, there is a profit generating angle。 This is not a critique, but a warning。 。。。more

Enjoyed this audiobook read by the author。 Michael Hyatt is a man I respect for his contribution to the book publishing world and productivity。 His real-life stories and examples from businesses kept me riveted in a way that nonfiction books don’t often do。

Really good read on visions。 It goes from inspirational to very practical。 I loved the teaching on how to create and redone vision, what vision is, and how to sell vision to those you lead, serve, and work under。 Some of it would seem common sense。 But there is so much that clarifies and drives home the importance and tailoring of vision and how to lead into that。

Philip

Usually I am a massive fan of Hyatt - especially Free to Focus, but this was a disappointment。 For whatever reason is just did not resonate and I quickly abandoned it。

It was well-written, had good principles, and interesting stories。

I’m a fan of Michael Hyatt and his daughter, Megan Hyatt Miller, so I wasn’t surprised I enjoyed this book。 What surprised me was how many passages I highlighted and have already gone back to。 It’s no secret that 2020 was a bad year for travel agencies and being an agency owner was rough。 Really rough。 But it’s the perfect time to reinvent what we do and how we do it。 This book gave me hope and the tools。 I can’t wait to jump into the Vision Scripter tool!

Inspiring。 Lingers on a bit, but there are some questions that motivate you to define a proper vision for an organisation。 Not just for the organisation, but for you, and your team too。 People thrive with a proper vision — as stated with many examples in the book。

John Dube

A helpful resource for all leaders。 Hyatt’s writing is better than most for this genre。 The book is also more researched than others with tons of real world anecdotes。 One question I have is Hyatt’s view of purpose。 He talked a lot about mission and vision (obviously), but doesn’t use the word purpose once。 Does vision = purpose or does mission = purpose in Hyatt’s paradigm?

Brendan Lambourne

A good read for anyone commencing the journey of becoming a vision based leader。

PD

Clear and concise。 Coaches you to reflect upon what type of leader you are and what type of leader you need to be vision driven。

Bit slow to start but full of good business turnaround stories。 Also some general points I think we can all consider during times of change including that its not possible to communicate too much。

A helpful book for leaders of organizations that struggle to imagine, document and communicate their vision。For me the most helpful advice was a quote from General George Paton which Hyatt applies to perfectionism: “A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week。” Hyatt’s point is: bring your team together to imagine the future, get it down on paper, keep talking about it and have it drive you to action。 Don’t wait for the perfect vision motto。 You don’t even A helpful book for leaders of organizations that struggle to imagine, document and communicate their vision。For me the most helpful advice was a quote from General George Paton which Hyatt applies to perfectionism: “A good plan violently executed now is better than a perfect plan executed next week。” Hyatt’s point is: bring your team together to imagine the future, get it down on paper, keep talking about it and have it drive you to action。 Don’t wait for the perfect vision motto。 You don’t even need that。 Write down with your team over or 3-4 pages what you hope your future will be。 。。。more
